It allows me to sleep for eight hours, waking up feeling refreshed and without the “hangover” of other OTC or Rx medications. And I’ve never had to increase the dosage strength. Before Ativan I fell asleep easily, but awoke after 3 or 4 hours unable to get back to sleep.
-For optimum effect, intramuscular drug should be administered at least 2 hours before the anticipated operative procedure.-Narcotic analgesics should be administered at their usual preoperative time.-IV: This dose should not ordinarily be exceeded in patients over 50 years of age.
Avoid driving motor vehicles, operating machinery, or activities requiring attention and coordination for 24 to 48 hours after a lorazepam injection, or until you are no longer drowsy.
If I normally sleep for 8 hours, would sleeping for 5 hours once a week do any harm? Can I quit 0.5 mg of Ativan cold turkey? I have been taking it for 2 months only.
Try to take your doses of lorazepam at the same times of day each day, as this will help you to remember to take them. Swallow the tablet(s) with a drink of water. You can take lorazepam either with or without food. If you forget to take a dose at the usual time, take it when you remember.
I got 2 hours of sleep, stressed out from losing a family member. took half of my normal dose ativan (lorazepam) more I got 2 hours of sleep, stressed out from losing a family member. took half of my normal dose ativan (lorazepam) around 3am. Does no sleep make anxiety worse? Can I take more ativan (lorazepam)? Normal dose is .5 2x a day
so i changed from wake-up meds to go-2-sleep meds (doc approved). realize, also, that 2-beers a night (over 3-4 hours) is a diet mandate of mine. the lorazapam helped with the sleep but i had to titrate up to 3.5 mg to get a whole, reliable quality night's sleep.
Ativan (lorazepam) is readily absorbed with an absolute bioavailability of 90 percent. Peak concentrations in plasma occur approximately 2 hours following administration. The peak plasma level of lorazepam from a 2 mg dose is approximately 20 ng/mL.
